My career in publishing began in 1990. I was employed as a typographer for Colorado Homes and Lifestyles and Colorado Biz Magazine, as well as several trade magazines. My typography skills became well-honed, especially on CH&L, which has an upscale readership. One of my major contributions was the conversion of these titles from analog to digital workflow. Primedia acquired the titles on which I worked and I was promoted to Desktop Publishing Coordinator. Four years later the Denver office was closed and I started my own freelance design business while completing BFA in Digital Design. During this time I was Art Director for Pure Power, a bi-monthly strength training publication.
Other publication clients include: National Endowment for Financial Education and Game Day Sports where I produced magazines for the University of Colorado and the University of Wyoming football and basketball clubs. As Director of Creative Communications for a non-profit, I currently design and produce an annual leadership training notebook (approximately 200 pages), in addition to other print, web and video projects.
